Three Militants Reportedly Killed in Ongoing Encounter in Kulgam

Three Militants have been Killed in the ongoing encounter  between Militants and Government Forces in Laroo area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District in the wee hours of Sunday

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 9 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Police and  CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.

Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about presence of Militants in the Laroo area.

The troopers blocked all the entry and exit points to the Laroo area, and started massive search operation during which the holed up Militants opened fire upon the troopers, triggering an encounter.

Two Army soldiers were also injured in the heavy exchange of gunfire, who were rushed to Army 92 base hospital in Srinagar, the Militants initially escaped the encounter site, however contact was later re established.

Officials said that Arms and Ammunition has been recovered from the killed Militants, however their identity has not been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile Voice calls and Mobile Internet services have been barred throughout the South Kashmir’s Kulgam District amid intense clashes that have erupted in the areas nearby the encounter site.
