Several areas of Chenab valley placed under curfew, Internet snapped

The district administration has imposed a curfew in several areas of the Chenab valley and suspended internet in the districts of Doda and Kishtwar as a preventive measure.

On Thursday, Massive protest rallies had been taken out from the Jamia Masjid of the main town of Bhaderwah in the Chenab valley. The protests demanded the arrest of the Bhartiya Janta Party over the disrespectful comments made by the ruling party’s spokesperson against the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on a live TV show.

Sensing tensions, The District Administration Doda had imposed curfew in Bhaderwah late on Thursday night following the day long protests and shutdown.

On Friday, Curfew has was extended as a precautionary measure to Kishtwar district of Chenab valley.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that internet services have also been suspended in the Chenab valley.
