Scores of government employees in Jammu Kashmir who attained retirement in the recent months are waiting for their pensionary benefits.
They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that hundreds of employees have retired in Kashmir in the last three months but due to unknown reasons, the administration is resorting to dilly-dally tactics in releasing pensionary benefits to them.
A recently retired employee told KNO that he along with dozens of employees are waiting for pensionary benefits like gratuity and final GP fund.
He said that all cases up to April 20 have been cleared but due to unknown reasons cases that came after 20 April have been kept pending.
They said the delay has caused a financial crisis affecting their families.
“We deserve some respect and we shouldn’t be forced to visit concerned offices every day,” they said.
They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter and address the issue at the earliest—(KNO)
