1 room for 50 students at Baramulla primary school

The Government Primary School at Binner village of Baramulla district displays a grim picture of the education sector in Kashmir, as the school has just one classroom for more than 50 students.

“Only two rooms are available among which one has been designated for mid-day meals kitchen purposes at the school while only single room is available to accommodate more than 50 students from 1st to 5th standard,” locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observe (KNO).

The locals claimed that they have informed the concerned authorities but nothing has happened on the ground so far. “The big claims of the government are known here because the school lacks a lot of infrastructure and accommodation,” Abdul Majeed a local said.

Muhammad Yousuf, another local said that there are about 50 students in two rooms and kitchen work is also being done in one of the rooms.

“We appeal to the district administration Baramulla to look into the problems and direct the concerned authorities to get the issue redressed at the earliest,” he said.

An official at Chief education office Baramulla said that the issue of space shortage will be addressed soon—(KNO)
