The Anantnag admin launched a rescue operation in the Chatroo area of Kokernag and rescued 25 tourists in the Anantnag area.
In a press release, the Anantnag admin said, Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, a joint rescue operation was launched by the administration of Sub Division Kokernag ( Revenue, Police and NHIDCL) and Administration of Sub Division Chatroo ( Revenue and police) under supervision of SDMs Kokernag & Chatroo on Wednesday (22 June) at around 11 am to Rescue the half a dozen vehicles carrying 25 tourists, locals, supplies etc who were stuck near Sinthan top road.
The road was blocked due to a fresh snowfall landslide.
Tehsildars and SHOs of both sides were closely monitoring the operation under the supervision of SDPO Kokernag.
