Seven gamblers arrested in Baramulla, One lakh above stake money recovered

Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested seven gamblers along with stake money, above one lakh, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement, Baramulla Police said that seven gamblers were arrested at Drung Park Tangmarg in Baramulla district. The playing cards along with stake money of ₹1,32,000/- was also recovered.

The police identified the arrested accused as Amir Hayat Khan S/o Assadullah khan R/O Tang Bagh Nawakadal, Mushtaq Ahmed Baba S/O Ghulam Rasool Baba R/O Chadihar Wanganpora Eidgah, Mohd Ismail Bangru S/O Mohd Sultan Bangru R/O Tanga Bagh Eidgah, Mohd Maqbool Wani S/O Farook Ahmad Wani R/O Wanganpora Eidgah, Sajad Ahmad Wani S/o Khazir Mohd wani R/O Wanganpora Eidgah, Lateef Ahmad Bhat S/o Mehrajudin Bhat R/O Zoonimar Soura and Mohd Younis Malik S/O Ghulam Nabi R/O Main Chowk Eidgah.

“Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding presence of gamblers at Drung Parak Tangmarg; Baramulla jurisdiction of Police Station Tangmarg, reacting on the information, Police Party of Police Station Tangmarg rushed towards spot and arrested seven gamblers from the said spots,” police statement reads.

The Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and further investigation is going on.
