Kashmiri student goes missing in Bangalore, Family seeks help

A Kashmiri student has gone missing from Bangalore’s Yeshwantpur railway station in the south Indian state of Karnataka.

Auqib Javid, who is a resident of the Bijhama, Uri area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, and a student of MVJ engineering college has been missing since November 30.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, his family member confirmed that Aqib has gone missing from 30 November 2022. “He was a student of MVJ college which is in the Whitefield area of the south Indian city of Bangalore,” he said.

The family member said that the last time he called his family was on 30 when he reached Bangalore after he had left home on 26 Nov. “He reached Delhi’s Nizamuddin on 28 November, where he boarded a train for Bangalore,” the family member told The Kashmiriyat.

Since 30 December, there has been no contact with Aquib. The family has reached his roommates, college and friends to locate him, but to avail, the family member said.

Confirming that the family has filed a missing report, he said that the Police is trying to monitor all the CCTV cameras around the Yeshwantpur Railway station.

The family has issued a phone number (7051403957) for providing any information about the missing person.

Earlier on Thursday, a 16-year-old Kashmiri student, Masroor Abbas went missing from Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh. Masroor remains untraced as of now.
