The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya along with SSP Shopian Tanushree on Tuesday chaired a meeting of District level Narco Committee to take stock of the efforts made by various departments against drug abuse in the district.
At the outset, the departments involved apprised the chair regarding various measures taken up till date for curbing the drug menace and illegal drug trade in the district.
The meeting discussed various measures to be taken up in the war against drugs in the district. He stressed on intensive awareness regarding ill effects of drug abuse and directed concerned departments especially police and revenue to take strict measures against drug dealers including registration of PSA in order to curb drug menace.
The DC directed the concerned from revenue, health, police department and other concerned departments to share action plans against the drug menace eradication.
SSP on the occasion also impressed upon the departments to work in cohesion in order to win the fight against drug menace.
The meeting was attended by ADC Yar Ali Khan, ASP Ifroz Ahmad, SDM Mushtaq Ahmad, ACR, Shahbaz Bodha, CMO Arshid Tak, CAO, CHO, DIO, Tehsildars,SHOs, representatives of Social welfare department and other concerned.
