Six Militants have been killed in the encounter that raged late night in Batgund area of South Kashmir’s Shopain District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the six Militants of Lashkar e Taiba and Hizb ul Mujahideen were trapped in the residential house of Nazir Ahmed Ganie at Batgund and later killed by Government Forces.

The Militants have been identified as Umar Majid Ganje @ Gazalha@ Hamzullah S/o Abdul Majid Ganai r/o Shuch, kulgam , Tanzeem – HM, Cat – A++, DOJ – 10 Dec 2015, Waseem Ah Wagay S/o Abdul Hamid Wagay, Amshipura, Shopian, Tanzeem – HM, Cat – A, DOJ – 07 Dec 2016, Mustaq Ahmad Mir @ Hamid@ S/o Gulam Hassan Mir r/o Chakcholan, Shopian, Tanzeem – LeT, Cat- A++, DOJ – 27 Jun 2014, Abbas Ah Bhat s/o Abdul Zubar Bhat r/o Mantrabug, Shopian, Tanzeem – HM, Cat – A, DOJ – 25 Se 2016, Khalid Farooq Malik @ Abu Talha s/o Farooq Ahmad Malik r/o Bagander, Alyalpora, Shopian, Tanzeem – HM, Cat – C, DOJ – 14 Apr 2018 and the last one has been identified as a Foreign Militant.
Their dead bodies have been handed over to the Police who have called the families of the Militants for identification.
