‘Use the old highway for journey’, Traffic Police issues advisory in view of Bharat Jodo Yatra

The Traffic wing of Jammu Kashmir Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of the Bharat Jodo Yatra being led by Rahul Gandhi that entered Kashmir valley on Friday morning.

In a statement, traffic police said, “In view of the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Shri Rahul Gandhi, Ex. President Indian National Congress and Hon’ble Member of Parliament Lok Sabha entering Srinagar City on 28th January 2023, the following diversions shall be enforced on 28 January 2023 for smooth flow of traffic:-

No vehicle shall be allowed to move on NH-44 from Peaks toward Galandar.

Vehicles shall use the old road from Panthachowk-Sempora-Pampore for the further journey towards Anantnag

Motorists intending to travel to Pulwama should use the Pohru-BKpora road.

The vehicular traffic will be allowed to move on NH-44 only after the Yatra reaches Truck Terminal Pantha Chowk.

General Public/Tourists are requested to adopt alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience.

Medical emergencies will be facilitated.
