Officials in the Watergam area of Baramulla district have issued a ten-day time to local residents to free “state land” within a period of seven days in the north Kashmir area.
A notice issued in Urdu issued to the residents, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat, has warned the locals of action if they do not evict the “state land” within seven days.
Office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Upper Ningli Sub Division Kreeri (I&FC)Tehsildar warned the “occupants” of the state land to vacate from the state land on their own. “Otherwise we will be forced to initiate action against the occupants and remove the ‘encroachments’,” the notice accessed by The Kashmiriyat read.
The officials also warned, ‘other than the legal action, no compensation would be paid for the demolition.’
Pertinently, in a bid to retrieve state land the JK admin has issued directions to Deputy commissioners who have ordered the revenue officials to carry out the eviction drives to free the state land of all the encroachers in Jammu Kashmir.
