Srinagar Airport to start e-cart service for women passengers, senior citizens

The authorities at the Srinagar International Airport have started an e-cart service from the drop gate to the terminal building and back, for the special convenience of lady passengers and senior citizens.

The Director of Srinagar International Airport Kuldeep Singh told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they have started the initiative for the convenience of lady passengers and senior citizens, and are seeking feedback to further augment the free service.

“As of now, we have started the free service for the convenience of female passengers and senior citizens with two e-carts from the drop gate to the terminal building and back. We are seeking public responses for the service, after which we may consider if any further augmentation is required,” he said.

The Director said though most of the passengers come in their own vehicles or cabs, they have still started the service on an experimental basis, which will be operated and controlled by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The Srinagar airport authorities in a tweet said the service is an initiative to give special convenience to lady passengers and senior citizens.

“For the special convenience of our lady passengers and senior citizens we are starting an e-cart service from Drop Gate to Terminal Building and back,” the airport authorities said in a tweet.

“This service is being introduced on an experimental basis and it is free of charge please give your feedback,” reads another tweet—(KNO)
