Forces on Wednesday Foiled Shopian chalo Programme of joint resistance leadership as all the roads leading to the district were barricaded and sealed to avoid law and order problem.
Sources said that the large deployment of forces made at Bonura, Haal and Balpora, Dalipora, Murran, Rajpora, Washbugh, Imamshab, Pinjoora, Kachdoora, Prichoo and all other areas to restrict people from reaching Shopian.
JRL, a combined group of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had announced that they will march to Shopian today and address a rally there.
Shutdown with minor clashes between protesters and government forces were witnessed amid continuous shutdown from last four days against killings in South Kashmir.
While all the education institutions remain closed today Kashmir University has also postponed the exams scheduled and class work remained suspended for the day.
Thirteen militants and four civilians were killed in three different gunfights in two districts of south Kashmir on Sunday.
Three army men were killed and three were injured during the gunfights.
Hundreds of civilians were also injured with bullet and pellet gun injuries during clashes in South Kashmir, many of whom have been admitted at the SMHS and SKIMS as well.
According to reports some of the youth who have received pellet injuries are on verge to loose eyesight.

Rouf Bashir Khanday (Age 21) of Darhuna, Anantnag
Ishfaq Ahmad Malik (Age 23) of Pinjoora, Shopian
Aetimad Fayaz Malik an M Phill student of Amshipura, Shopian
Mohammad Aqib Malik (Age 20) of Ringat, Kulgam
Sameer Ahmed Lone of Hillow, Shopian
Gyas-ud-Din Thokar (Age 28) of Padarpur, Shopian
Ishfaq Ahmed Thokar (Age 25) of Padarpura, Shopian

Mehraj-ud-Din Mir (Age 28) of Okey, Kulgam
Mohammad Iqbal Bhat (Age 30) of Kasipora, Shopian
Mushtaq Ahmad Thoker (Age 38) of Dragad, Shopian
Three army men were identified as:
Sepoy Hetram
Gunner Nilesh Singh
Gunner Arvindar Kumar.
Pertinently Out of 20 people killed in South Kashmir, 2 civilians and 11 militants were belonging to district Shopian.
