Army on Tuesday continued the rescue operation to retrieve the body who drowned in a flood channel in Srinagar on Sunday.
An official told the news agency— Kashmir Scroll that an eight-year-old boy identified as Ikhlas son of Ab Qayoom resident of Hamdaniya Colony drowned in a flood channel near Mithayi Bund Hamdaniya colony on Sunday.
He said that soon after he drowned, locals along SDRF team and police started a rescue operation, however, they failed to retrieve the body of the minor on day 02.
The operation was put on halt for the night and it resumed on Monday when the army also joined the operation, they said. They also didn’t get success to retrieve the body on Monday and restarted the operation on Tuesday—(KS)
