A Kashmiri Muslim died after he fell down while repairing a water tank for Amarnath Yatris in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday morning, Bashir Ahmed was repairing a water tank for Amarnath Yatra at Harnag in Anantnag when he fell down from the rooftop of a three-storied Government building.
The 55-year-old, a resident of Harnag was rushed to the Government Medical College in Anantnag from where the doctors rushed him to a hospital in Srinagar.
On Thursday morning, however, Bashir, also working as a causal labourer with the Public Health Department of Jammu Kashmir, succumbed to his injuries, the locals said.
Hundreds of people reached Khandipora area in Anantnag to attend the funeral prayers of the deceased.
Last year, 22-year-old Muslim horseman died while saving Amarnath pilgrim from falling down a cliff.
