A 23-year-old Muazzin (one who recites Adhaan) of Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah (Shah e Hamdan’s mosque) in Tral area of south Kashmir breathed his last on Monday morning.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday Owais Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Tral who was riding his two-wheeler met with an accident near the Diver Road area of Pulwama district.
Owais Ahmad Ganie who was the Muazzin and Naib Imam Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah Tral was rushed to SDH Tral where from he was shifted to Srinagar hospital in critical condition, they said.
The 21-year-old succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning at a hospital in Srinagar.
“He was a pious soul and had been praying five times a day and asking others to do the same. On Sunday, he recited Quran, Mankabats and Naats at the Khanqah of Ameer e Kabeer in Tral on his annual urs. Thousands of people praised his melodious voice and his religious devotion at such a young age,” a local said.
