Tral’s Chandrigam health centre in shambles

The locals from Chandrigam hamlet of Tral sub-division of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district Saturday expressed strong resentment against authorities for failing to find a safe building for the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) which is lacking all kinds of facilities.

The sole doctor posted at this NTPHC has been directed to remain present at Sub-District Hospital Tral which has been causing immense hardships for the locals.

The locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust that there is no bathroom in the dilapidated building as a result both employees and visitors suffer.

“We were told that proper staff along with machinery would be made available here but nothing concrete has materialized yet. This health centre runs from an unsafe building posing threat to the staff and patients as well.,” the residents said.

Hundreds of patients from Chandrigam and adjacent villages visit this health centre. The locals appealed to authorities to pay attention towards this health centre and address their genuine grievance. [KNT]
