The Indian Army has started investigation against troops under the Major’s command for an alleged after the troops compelled worshippers in a Pulwama mosque to chant, Jai Shree Ram slogans, reported The Tribune.
Army has not clarified if any officer has been suspended.
Earlier, leaders of the National Conference (NC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), CPI(M), People’s Conference including others demanded an immediate inquiry into the incident.
Mehbooba Mufti called for an enquiry while NC chief Omar Abdullah directed his tweet towards Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, urging him to initiate a probe into the matter.
