Kashmir’s most tallest man dies at 38

A 38-year-old Kashmiri man who was over 7 feet tall has passed away at his native in the Khidwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Mohammed Iqbal Doonu, aged 38, who was 7 feet 3 inches tall, passed away on the afternoon of August 13.

His cousin’s brothers who had been taking care of him told The Kashmiriyat that Iqbal passed away after a prolonged illness and was laid to rest at his native in Kulgam.

They said, “They had to move his body on a cot to the graveyard as the body was unable to fit into the coffin.”

Iqbal was suffering from crippling malnutrition, they said and during the last six months, his ailments were free and his body reduced to more weakness. “He was incapable of even making the basic movements,” they told The Kashmiriyat.
