Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed that Palestine has consistently cautioned the world about Israel’s actions, emphasizing their determination to remain on their land and prevent another ‘Nakba.’
“We will not leave our land and will not allow another ‘Nakba’ to take place.” Abbas said, adding: “We will not leave and we will not allow our people to be displaced.”
“In light of this calamity that occurred tonight, and out of concern for our people, I decided to cut short my visit and return to the homeland to be among my people in this great ordeal, and I agreed with the brothers in Jordan and Egypt to cancel the summit that was scheduled in Amman with President Biden.” Abbas said in a televised speech.
Abbas shortened his trip to return home due to a recent crisis, canceling a planned summit with President Biden in Amman, Jordan, and called for an end to the aggression against Palestinians.
He urged the international community to hold the Israeli government accountable and provide protection for Palestinians.
Abbas reaffirmed their commitment to preventing a new catastrophe in the 21st century and uniting the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression.
Tragically, an Israeli airstrike on Gaza Baptist Hospital led to significant casualties, prompting Abbas to declare three days of mourning and pleading for international intervention to safeguard the Palestinian population.
The Palestinian Minister of Health denounced the hospital bombing as a ‘genocide’ and warned of the near-collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza due to deliberate hospital targeting by Israel.
