Eight children left fatherless in Jammu Kashmir as parent falls victim to another scam

In the Darhal area of Rajouri district, a heartbreaking incident unfolded as Adil Din, a man striving for better opportunities, tragically succumbed to a heart attack.

The catalyst for this unfortunate event was an alleged betrayal by an immigration agent named Manzoor Hussain.

Adil Din’s family, now grappling with grief, finds themselves not only mourning the loss of a loved one but also navigating the aftermath of a substantial financial loss.

The intricate web of deception began when Adil entrusted Rs 5 lakh to Manzoor Hussain in December 2023, with the hope of securing a visa for Kuwait, a local told The Kashmiriyat.

Little did he know that this transaction would lead to a cascade of deceit and despair.

Manzoor Hussain, the purported facilitator of Adil’s aspirations, betrayed his trust by absconding to Saudi Arabia with the substantial sum of money.

What was initially a pursuit of a better life turned into a tragic tale of exploitation and broken promises.

The distance between Adil and justice seemed insurmountable as Manzoor, now in Saudi Arabia, offered feeble explanations for the protracted visa processing delays over phone calls.

Tragically, on December 5, Adil Din succumbed to the emotional and financial turmoil, experiencing a fatal heart attack.

In the aftermath of this devastating loss, Adil’s family lodged a formal complaint at the Darhal Police Station on December 15, seeking justice for the betrayal that led to their patriarch’s untimely demise.

Nazim Kausar, the grieving wife, has been promised of Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Amritpal Singh that justice would prevail.

Directives were promptly issued to the officer in charge of the Darhal Police Station to conduct a thorough investigation into the fraudulent activities that cost Adil Din his life.

The Station House Officer (SHO) at Darhal Police, in said that a complaint had been registered, and an active investigation was underway.

“We are investigating the matter, and if anything deceitful is found, an FIR will be lodged for further probe,” the SHO affirmed.

Adil Din, who was not just a victim but the sole breadwinner for his family, had undertaken financial risks, borrowing five lakh rupees to pursue opportunities abroad and support his wife, two sons, and six daughters.

The family now clings to the hope that justice will be served, allowing them to recover the misappropriated funds and alleviate the burden of outstanding debts, left behind by a man who aspired for a better life but fell victim to unscrupulous exploitation.
