Kashmir’s thirst quenched: Rain, Snowfall set to break droughty silence

In the latest weather forecast, an independent weather monitor, predicts ongoing light to moderate rain and snow in parts of Kashmir.

‘Kashmir Weather’ forecasted the similar conditions in a few places in the Jammu region until late afternoon.

South Kashmir and parts of central Kashmir might experience a rain-free period between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today, with the possibility of sunshine, Kashmir Weather forecasts.

However, they said, the weather is expected to change as rain and snow is anticipated to become more widespread from evening or night onwards. Jammu region and some parts of south Kashmir are likely to face moderate to heavy rain and snow until tomorrow afternoon.

During this period, the central and north Kashmir plains may experience moderate rain or snow.

Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat revealed that the Gurez valley has received fresh snowfall of neary 6 Inch.

The Chowkibal Kupwara, Gulmarg, Vailoo Kokernag and Banihal areas have also received fresh snowfall, breaking the record of long dry spells in Kashmir valley.

Several areas in north Kashmir have witnessed substantial rainfall over the past few hours.
