The locals of Karnah’s Jabri Bajaldar in in Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday carried a pregnent woman to hospital on their shoulders as the roads have not been cleared yet following heavy snowfall last week.
A video that is now viral on social media shows the locals carrying the on their shoulders for several kilometres to reach the hospital.
Locals said that the woman namely Bibi Shenaz wife of Manazar Husssain Shah developed labor pain and needed hospitalisation.
They said that since the road was closed following heavy snowfall in the area, they had to carry the woman on shoulder to reach the hospital.
They said that it took them nearly 4 hours to reach the hospital.
The locals urged the authorities to clear the roads so that the people could heave a sigh of relief. (KNS)
