Minor girl abducted on Eid day, gang raped in Baramulla Kashmir

A minor girl has been allegedly gang-raped after being kidnapped from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a minor girl left home on Wednesday to go to the Pattan railway station, however, she did not return home, causing panic among the family members.

They said that the family members tried to find the minor girl everywhere but to no avail. “The family later filed an FIR stating that unknown persons had kidnaped their daughter from the railway station in Pattan,” they said.

Following this, the Jammu Kashmir Police have filed an FIR, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat.

The FIR filed under section 363 (kidnapping) states that the father of the minor girl approached the Police station stating that his daughter had been kidnapped on June 19, 2024.

Filed under the number 219 of 2014, the case   has been handed over to an SI rank Police officer, “who will be sent for further investigation, along with a Head Constable and other personnel.” The detailed information will be presented as a supplementary officer, the FIR reads.

The Jammu Kashmir Police soon swung into action and recovered the minor girl from Pattan Baramulla who was recovered by the team of Police.

“She was kidnapped in pattan and then taken to Srinagar where she was raped by three persons at a rented accommodation. Following the statement of the minor girl, three persons have been arrested,” a Police officer confirmed to The Kashmiriyat.
