Delhi court defers hearing on Engineer Rashid’s bail again

The Patiala House Court in Delhi has postponed the hearing on Er. Rashid’s interim bail plea to July 1.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) requested more time to submit its response, prompting the court to reschedule the case.

This follows multiple previous deferments, including one on June 19, 2024.

Engineer Rashid, currently detained in Tihar jail since 2019 under charges by the NIA for alleged militant funding, seeks interim bail or custody parole to fulfill parliamentary duties.

His involvement came to light during the interrogation of Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Watali, also arrested by the NIA on similar charges concerning funding militant groups and separatists in the Valley.
