Ummat e Islami Jammu Kashmir today took out rallies in various areas in four districts of South Kashmir in remembrance of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed.
A Rally was taken out from jamia Masjid of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District to condemn the killings in Sirigufwara area of Islmabad (anantnag) district.
The rallies were led by leaders of Ummat e Islami, some of the areas include Watergam, Kokernag, Gawran, Gopalpora, Achabal, Trahpoo, Aishmuqam in Islamabad district. in Shopian rallies were taken out in Turkwangam, Wachi, Keegam areas while in Pulwama rallies were taken out in Litter, Imam Sahib, Muran, Pampora, Sangam, Tahab and in Kulgam rallies were taken out in Khudwani, yaripora, Kund Qazigund, Arwani and Churath.
Thousands of people participated in the marches organized by Ummat e Islami in which glowing tributes were paid to Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed. In Islamabad’s Jamia masjid, Gulzar Ahmed Madni addressing a huge gathering paid tributes to Dr. Qazi Nisar and said the slain cleric made innumerable sacrifices for the Kashmiri people and did not even hesitate to give his life for them.
The members unanimously condemning the detention of Mirwaiz Qazi yasir said that Dr. Qazi Nisar is a tree whose roots are spread into nooks and corners of Jammu Kashmir. “Thinking that they can belittle or cage Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir is a mere dilemma, we are in all corners of South Kashmir,” Moulana Irshad told public at Litter Pulwama.
The Police in Islamabad had imposed restrictions around Jamia Masjid as Police vehicles had sealed all the entry gates to Jamia Masjid which was called “barbaric” by Ummat e Islami members. At other places, the rallies concluded peacefully.
Bilal Ahmed Mir, the senior leader of Ummat e Islami later paid glowing tributes to the four Militants killed in Sirigufwara Encounter and said that our movement will never fail.
He also demanded the release of political prisoners languishing in various Jails of Jammu Kashmir and in India.
