
Jammu Kashmir Police in Budgam solved a theft case within hours and recovering the stolen money.
The incident occurred on the morning of December 29, 2024, when Mohammad Ashraf Naik, the Imam of Jamia Masjid Gopalpora in Chadoora, reported that Rs 22,220 had been stolen from his room while he led the Fajr prayers.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under FIR No. 180/2024 at Police Station Chadoora.
A police team, led by I/C Police Post Mochewa, Muhammad Adil Tak, and supervised by SDPO Charar-i-Sharief, Owais Ahmad Wani, quickly initiated an investigation.
Relying on intelligence inputs, the police identified and questioned suspects. Umar Farooq Shah, a resident of Zoolwah Gopalpora, confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The stolen cash was recovered, and the accused was arrested.
The mosque committee and local residents praised the police for their prompt and efficient action, emphasizing the importance of maintaining community trust through swift justice.
