A new born baby was found by locals of Kralpora in Kupwara near a local nallah this morning.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that as soon as they spotted the body, they immediately informed the police following which a police team reached the spot and rescued the kid in living condition.
Police team of Police station Kralpora took the baby to SDH Kralpora for immediate treatment.
As per the police the baby was found on Kralpora Meelyal road in a Paddy field were some locals spotted it and informed them.
Immediately a team was constituted that reached the spot and rescued the abandoned child .
People appreciated the efforts of police and Hospital staff for prompt action and coordination.
However, they expressed anger over the immoral act and sought identification and strict action against those involved.
The child was doing well and is said to be out of danger as this report is filed.
“We are exploring all possible options for the caretaking of the child ” a Social Welfare official told The Kashmiriyat.
