The vital Achabal-Chattapal Road in Anantnag district is in a pathetic condition for the last many years now as locals allege that authorities have been macadamizing only a few patches over the years.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that 22 Kilometer Achabal-Chattapal Road is a vital road connecting over 50 villages with district headquarters Anantnag. “This road has been neglected by the authorities even though the locals have complained about it many times,” the local residents said.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, they said that despite connecting various important places like Shangus, Uttersoo and Chittergul with the rest of the district, authorities due to unknown reasons have been taking this road for granted.
They alleged that they are suffering due to the potholes on the road and it has been several years since the road was macadamized.
The locals said they approached the concerned authorities several times with a plea to macadamize the road, but all in vain as nothing has been done in this regard.
“We want to bring it to the notice of concerned authorities to improve the condition of the road at the earliest so that we don’t have to suffer anymore,” they said while speaking to The Kashmiriyat.
