The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Shopian has asked the general public, in case they want, to share any information regarding the encounter that took place at Kanigam area of Shopian on 05 May 2021.
The ADM who is also the Enquiry officer for the encounter has said that anyone who wishes to share information may visit his office personally during office hours by or before 10 June 2021.
Pertinently the enquiry is being conducted as per the standing orders Procedures, that a Magisterial enquiry of every anti-militancy operation is required to be conducted.
Pertinently, three militants were killed while the fourth one surrendered during an encounter that raged between government forces and militants at the Kanigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on 05 May 2021. The operation was conductedd jointly by the Indian Army’s 44 RR Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly laid a siege in the Kanigam Shopian area.
