The Residents of Adigam area in Kokernag on Friday stated a protest at Adigam against the non-availability of clean drinking water.
The residents on Friday morning hit the streets and staged a demonstration against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for the non- availability of clean drinking water in the village.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that chanting anti-government slogans, the protesters blocked Kokernag- Margan top road.
The protesters alleged that they were suffering due to non- availability of drinking water from several days.

“If the department fails to restore water supply in the village we will launch a massive stir,” a protester told The Kashmiriyat.
Later, a police party reached the spot and assured the protesters that matter will be taken up with the higher authorities.
Following assurances, the villagers called off the protest.
