After the launch of NaMo TV Sunday- a channel dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign for Lok Sabha elections, now Jio which has a customer base of around 223 Million people is running Ads to promote Narendra Modi and Bhartiya Janta Party.
On Monday, morning millions of Jio Customers, throughout India, received a notification about BJP manifesto being released by Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister. The notification that was sent a couple of times to jio customer was broadcasted live on Jio TV.
Mukesh Ambani who is the owner of Jio has close links with the Indian Prime Minister.
The Congress has taken the issue of the NaMo TV to the Election Commission, accusing it of violating model code of conduct, the poll body has asked for a report from the Information and Broadcasting ministry. But the raging controversy aside, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted today urging people to “tune in right away” and watch “Yoga with Modi” on NaMo TV.
On Monday, at least 200 writers have signed a join petition asking Indian citizens to vote against Bhartiya Janta Party in the upcoming general elections, however with the level of campaigning and Media management the ruling party has managed to uphold makes it unlikely that BJP will loose the upcoming general elections.

Last week, 600 theatre personalities also urged India to vote against the BJP, however the Bhartiya Janta party is likely to bag a clear majority, as the mass media continues to support the Indian Prime Minister
The Indian National Congress which is one of the biggest national parties in India does not seem to be in a mood to join the ‘Maha Ghatbandhan’ (Coalition of all groups), which has joined hands to “save institutions of India.” Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi, Chandra Babu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh, Akilesh Singh Yadav from Uttar Pradesh have in various live programs said that they have not received any formal invites from Congress. “We are ready to support them though, if they want us to and introduce hands of friendship towards us,” Akilesh Singh Yadav recently told an Indian news channel.
Meanwhile various NGOs in India have also geared up to defeat BJP, however the Congress leaders have shown less interest in the support offered by various NGOs who want to fight “extremism.”
Modi first came to national prominence in 2002 when communal riots erupted in Gujarat, soon after he took over as the state’s chief minister. The riots left more than 1,000 dead, most of them Muslims.
While Modi himself has never been found guilty of playing any role in the bloodshed, one of his ministers was sentenced for inciting violence.
