After one week, Shepherd’s body recovered from river Jhelum

The body of a 20-year-old shepherd was on Tuesday recovered from river Jhelum at the Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Notably, the shepherd drowned in river Jhelum last Wednesday following which the rescue operation was launched.

Officials told the news agency–Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body of the shepherd identified as Nazir Ahmad Cheechi, son of Muhammad Yousuf Cheechi of Bandipora was recovered from river Jhelum at Seer Jagir area of Sopore.

They said that the body was handed over to the family after conducting all legal medical formalities—(KNO)
