Militants on Wednesday broke a cordon and escaped during a cordon and Search operation launched in Kalantara area of Kandi in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 29 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a cordon and search operation following an input about Militant movement in the area.

During the cordon, the holed up Militants opened fire upon forces, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
After, the initial contact, however, no contact has been established as of yet.
However, the search operation is still on.
