National Conference Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, plans to introduce a private member’s bill in the Lok Sabha aimed at enforcing a total ban on liquor and intoxicants in Jammu Kashmir.
In a recent post, Mehdi expressed hope that the bill will be presented in either the current or the next parliamentary session, and he seeks support from fellow legislators for its passage.
The National Conference, which holds two seats in the Lok Sabha, is a part of the INDIA bloc.
Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi was elected as a Member of Parliament for the first time in 2024. Representing the National Conference, he won the Srinagar constituency with a decisive margin.
