Principal secretary J&K, Rohit Kansal in a tweet today said that the Jammu Kashmir Government has taken a major decision to allow all religious places of worship to be opened in Jammu Kashmir from August 16, 2020.
However, religious processions and large religious gatherings remain strictly prohibited. It is pertinent to mention here that on Eid-ul-Adha, Eid namaz was offered in masjids.
Mass congregational prayers were not allowed due to the global Pandemic, COVID-19.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PC Pole has said that there has been a spike in coronavirus cases in Srinagar due to relaxations during festivals and SOP violations. Therefore strict restrictions have again been imposed on movement and gatherings in Srinagar.
