Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today in a statement said that timely and effective measures taken by JK administration against 2nd wave of Covid-19 Pandemic have saved a huge number of human lives.
In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, President DAK Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Tak said that the holistic approach adopted by the LG Led government in upgrading health infrastructure, decentralizing health care services, installing oxygen plants in rural hospitals have proved game-changer for JK.
Dr Tak appealed to people who are eligible for vaccination to go for it as soon as possible, the sooner the better. The only way to get rid of this devastating pandemic and to resume a pre-covid normal life is mass vaccination, which has been proven very effective across the globe in decreasing the number of cases and covid fatalities.
General Secretary DAK, Dr Owais H Dar said that the cooperation and sense of responsibility shown by people are praiseworthy in mitigating the pandemic. People, in general, have fully cooperated with the administration and have sacrificed a lot to save humanity. But we must not lower our guard and must still follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour in Letter and spirit till this Corona Virus Vanishes from our community.
The health and Medical Education department of Union Territory of JK has delivered very effectively and succeeding in managing both covid and non-covid emergencies without chaos and confusion and it is also the time to appreciate the front line health care workers who have managed multiple dimensions of pandemic by adopting a multidisciplinary holistic approach in dealing with the caseload.
Our premier Health Institute, SKIMS Soura under the leadership of its director has done extremely well in managing serious and critical Covid-19 patients and has issued guidelines from time to time in covid mitigation efforts.
Meanwhile, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) appealed the LG led administration to provide monthly risk and covid allowance to all health employees which is their basic right and long-pending demand.
