The Jammu Kashmir Police said that it “rescued” 34 stranded tourists and helped a pregnant woman to reach the hospital amid snowfall and slippery road conditions in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police official said that Khan Sahib police station in Budgam received a distress call that a lady from the Shennipora area of Khansahib was in labour pain and needed to be immediately shifted to SDH Hospital Khan Sahib, but due to snowfall and slippery conditions of the road, they were unable to deliver the patient to the hospital.
Accordingly, a police team from Police Station Khan Sahib was deputed and the lady was brought to SDH hospital Khansahib safely, the official said.
A Police team also “rescued” 34 tourists who were stranded at Rayar while traveling in their vehicles due to sudden snowfall. The police party facilitated their travel to Yarikhah Doodhpathri.
