Amid protests in various parts of the valley, Kashmiri Pandits Tuesday warned of “another mass migration” if the administration fails to address their issues.

The protests have erupted after a female teacher from the Samba was shot dead on Thursday morning outside the High School in Kulgam’s Gopalpora area.

Protesters alleging that the administration has failed to provide them any security said, “All Kashmiri Pandit migrant employees have planned ‘another mass migration’  if the government fails to address their issues within 24 hours.”

The Kashmiri Pandits have been demanding relocation to some safer places, for some time being till the situation in Kashmir becomes safe for Kashmiri Pandits.

The officials assured a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits that they will make Kashmir ‘militancy-free’ in 2-3 years, hence we asked them to relocate us until then, he said quoting the Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar.

A group of protesters in Srinagar said that more than 4000 Kashmiri Pandits are living in rented accommodation and less than 1250 Kashmiri Pandits have been provided accommodation by the Government over the years.
