Amid protests, R.K. Mathur removed as LG of Ladakh

Amid intense protests by Ladakhis, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh R.K Mathur has been removed.

The civil society groups in Ladakh, the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) have been protesting for several weeks to demand special status for Ladakh.

The groups have intensified stir to demand sixth schedule status for Ladakh.
