
Amid a row over allotment of a room in the new building of Jharkhand’s legislative assembly, BJP MLA a BJP MLA from Bihar’s Darbhanga district a similar arrangement in the Bihar Assembly to recite Hanuman Chalisa.
BJP MLA Hari Bhushan Thakur said he will meet the assembly speaker soon in this regard.
“If a room is allocated (in Jharkhand Assembly) to offer Namaz in the secular country, why shouldn’t there be room to chant ‘Hanuman Chalisa’? All sections of society are equal before the Constitution,” ANI quoted him saying.
BJP MLA in Jharkhand had created a ruckus in the state’s assembly over allotment of a room for Namaz. They chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and started chanting the Hanuman Chalisa at the premises.
They also demanded a separate room for reading Hanuman Chalisa in the state’s assembly.
