Amid US-UK bombing, hundreds of Yemenis kidnapped in Aden

Amid the intense bombing conducted by the United States and United Kingdom in Yemen, hundreds of Yemenis have been kidnapped in the province of Aden.

The escalating security concerns in Aden continue to unfold as factions aligned with the Southern Transitional Council (STC), have allegedly abducted a group of young people from the Al-Wahda residential neighborhood.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening, with masked gunmen arriving in a bus and swiftly apprehending several individuals in the Sheikh Othman district.

This alarming development has raised fears among the local population, as the armed perpetrators, brandishing weapons and issuing threats, forcibly seized the young victims.

The families left in distress are struggling to comprehend the circumstances surrounding the abductions, as the assailants provided no information about their intentions or the destination to which they transported the captives.

Aden’s security landscape has been in a precarious state, marked by the proliferation of armed factions with allegiances to various foreign entities.

The absence of effective state authorities since the onset of 2016 has exacerbated the situation, allowing these armed groups to operate with relative impunity.

The Saudi and UAE-led coalition has carried out inhumane bombing  in Yemen since 2015 killing tens and thousands of people.

Meanwhile, the US-British aggression resumed its targeting of several Yemeni provinces.

The aircraft involved in the aggression focused on the provinces of Hodeida, Taiz, Dhamar, Bayda, and Sa’ada.

While the ongoing bombings have reportedly resulted in a significant number of casualties, the confirmed fatalities currently include Sadiq Abdul Jalil Thabeth Al-Shamiri, aged 45, and Tariq Saeed Al-Shamiri.

Additionally, young Muhammad Sadiq Thabet Al-Shamiri has been reported injured as a result of these attacks.
