Among 28 civilians killed this year so far, 20 were from majority community

Among the 28 civilians killed so far in Jammu and Kashmir this year till date 08 were from minority communities. Among these 8 slain, one was affiliated with BJP while one was the minor nephew of a Bhartiya Janata Party leader.

The data available with news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that the 8 members from minority community killed this year till date by unidentified gunmen include the Krishna Dhaba owner Akash Mehra who was shot dead at his dhaba in Sonwar Srinagar, BJP leader Rakesh Pandit killed in Tral, non-local labour from Bihar Shankar Kumar Choudary shot dead in Nihama Kulgam, Makhan Lal Bindroo- a pharmacist killed in Iqbal Park Srinagar, Virendra Paswan from Bhagalpur Bihar killed in Lal Bazar, Deepak Chand and Sapendar Kour both killed in Idgah Srinagar.

Among the 28 civilians killed so far, 20 including the wife and daughter of a policeman were from the majority Muslim community.

Two Councillors Riyaz Pir and Shamsuddin were killed in Sopore attack. Unidentified gunmen killed a civilian Naseer Khan at Buchipora Budgam. Two youth Sanjeet Parrey and Shahnawaz Bhat were killed by unknown gunmen at Jablipora Bijbehara. Unidentified gunmen also shot dead a shopkeeper Umar Nazir Bhat of Kailashpora Tankipora in Habba Kadal area of Srinagar.

Two civilians Manzoor Shalla of Shalimar Colony Sopore and Bashir of Mahrajpora Sopore were killed in Sopore by unidentified gunmen. Two cops were also got killed in that attack.

A civilian identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Hanji Gund Beerwah died in a grenade attack at Barbarshah Srinagar. An SPO Fayaz Ahmed, his wife Raja Begum, and daughter Rafia Jan were killed by unidentified gunmen at Hariparigam of Awantipora. A civilian Javaid Ahmed was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Lurgam village of Tral. A youth Meeran Ali was shot dead by unknown persons in Bulbul Lankar Nawakadal Srinagar.

BJP Kisan Morcha President for Kulgam and Sarpanch Redwani Kulgam and his wife Jawahira were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag. The nephew of a BJP Rajouri leader Jasbir Singh was killed in a grenade attack. Unidentified gunmen also shot dead a BJP leader Javaid Ahmed Dar at Brazlo Jagir Kulgam and Apni Party leader Ghulam Hasan Lone at Devsar Kulgam.

A civilian Abdul Rehman Guroo from Galwanteng Chatabal was killed by unidentified gunmen in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar. Another civilian who was a PDD employee identified as Shafi Dar was shot dead at SD Colony Batamaloo.

Besides a pharmacist and a non-local vendor, unidentified gunmen also shot dead Sumo president Muhammad Shafi alias Sonu in Shahgund Hajin area of Bandipora.

Today, unidentified gunmen shot dead two teachers. (KNT)
