One of the longest-serving doctors of the Anantnag district passed away after a brief illness at his residence in the south Kashmir district.
Family sources told The Kashmiriyat that Dr. Mir Mohammed Ishaq passed away at his residence in Monghall area of Anantnag on Tuesday evening.
Hundreds of people from the nearby areas attended the funeral of the deceased physician who served the people of Anantnag for decades.
Dr. Mohammed Ishaq opened a clinic near Anantnag town’s Janglat Mandi in mid-1990s where patients from nooks and corners of south Kashmir got treated, many of them free of cost.
The market (Janglat Mandi) later developed into a hub of medical activity. Several chemist shops and doctors’ clinics later came up in the area.
Civil society from Anantnag including the medical fraternity has expressed grief over the passing of Dr. Ishaq.
