For the first time in decades, the annual of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani at Wangat area of Kangan in Ganderbal was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic throughout the world.
The organizers of the event where thousands of devotees, participate told The Kashmiriyat that the annual two-day Urs which commenced on June 6 been cancelled following the breakout of COVID-19.
Every year, the urs of the revered Sufi Saint, Baba Nagri is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Shrine located in Ganderbal district in which thousands of devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir participate and pray, recite Quran and make special prayers for Peace and tranquility in Kashmir valley, had to be cancelled.
The people of the area expressed great sorrow saying that this was the first time in many decades that the annual fest had to be called off.
According to the trustees of Baba Nagri, there will be no event on this year.
