A Special police officer namely Irfan Ahmed Dar resident of Nehama area of Pulwama who decamped with Ak 47 from Police station Pampore in South Kashmir where he was posted has joined militant ranks.
He was not found at police station since yesterday evening at police station Pampore after which manhunt was launched in the area to trace the cop.
However in a tele-statement to a news agency, the Hizb ul Mujahideen has confirmed that cop has joined them.
This is third incident this year that a cop has joined ranks.

On 25 April this year a constable namely Tariq Bhat (belt number 1151) son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat of Khasipora Shopian gone missing from Pakherpora area of budgam district where he was posted joined militant ranks.
On 10 April Army man namely Idrees Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad sultan Mir resident of Safanagri shopian who was posted in Bihar with Jammu and Kashmir light infantry (JKLI) also joined militant ranks.
In year 2017 constable Ishfaq Dar from Heff shopian, constable syed Naveed Mushtaq from Nazimpora Shopian and an army man Zahoor Ahmad from Sirnoo village of Pulwama has also joined militant ranks.
