Indian cricketer Shahbaz Ahamad, a rising talent in the sport, recently tied the knot with Dr. Shaista Amin, a Kashmiri native, in a traditional wedding ceremony.
The nuptials, celebrated at the bride’s home, have captivated the public, with photos and videos of the event spreading widely on social media.
According to reports, Shahbaz, who plays for SunRisers Hyderabad and Bengal, will host a wedding reception on August 10 in Palwal, Haryana.
Ahamad, 29, debuted for the Indian cricket team in 2022 and has since made significant strides in his career.
Originally from Mewat, Haryana, Shahbaz’s father, Ahmed Jan, is a clerk in the Nuh district’s Sub-divisional magistrate office. Shahbaz left his engineering studies to focus on cricket but completed his BTech during the pandemic.
Earlier, Mumbai cricketer Sarfaraz Khan also made headlines last year for marrying a Kashmiri woman in a traditional ceremony in Shopian.
