Another Pulwama Type Attack on Cards, Say Intelligence Agencies

March 11

Government forces have been alerted by intelligence agencies of another Pulwama-like attack in the Kashmir Valley, IndiaToday reported.

According to the report intel agencies have also reported Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has been plotting a fresh suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The intelligence warning has come almost a month after 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in a suicide attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The forces have been informed of these intercepts.

The intel inputs also said that a Jaish commander has been training five to six militants to carry out more attacks in the Valley. The commander has been recruiting youths from the Valley to make explosives, the intel inputs said.

The agencies had earlier learned that an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack is being planned on the Chowkibal and Tangdhar routes, and that one tanzeem has prepared a green Scorpio, which is probably ready for a suicide attack.

The intelligence agencies decoded a message on a closed social media group linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed. The message referred to the explosives detonated in the Pulwama attack as just a 200 kg “khilauna” — or toy.

Be ready for a 500-kg blast, the message said, adding that the forces should stop targetting the Kashmiris. “The war is between you and us. Come and fight; we are ready,” the message reads. “This is just the beginning.”
