Sreenivasan Jain, a senior journalist and group editor at NDTV, announced his resignation with the channel on Saturday ending a three-decade career with the national news network.
The action was taken in response to Adani’s recent acquisition of the business in November 2022.
In response to accusations of fraud against the Adani Group by US-based Hindenburg Research, Jain made his resignation known via his official Twitter account.
“Hi all. An amazing, nearly three-decade long run at NDTV comes to an end today. The decision to resign wasn’t easy, but .. it is what it is. More later.,” said Jain in a tweet.
Jain’s resignation comes months after that of Ravish Kumar, a former senior journalist for NDTV India who left his position in November. The founders of NDTV, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, also resigned from the board of directors in December.
In 1995, Jain started working for NDTV. He interviewed numerous eminent people, including politicians and prominent national and international news reporters, throughout the years.
On NDTV 24/7, Jain hosted the weekly programme Truth vs. Hype. From 2003 to 2008, he also served as the bureau chief for Mumbai and, for a brief period, as the managing editor of NDTV’s business channel, Profit.
