Extreme cold conditions continued across Jammu Kashmir on Friday, as the MeT department has predicted snowfalls from January 16.
The minimum temperature is running below zero throughout Kashmir valley, while as night temperature has gone below zero in Bhaderwah, Banihal, Batote of Jammu division.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Saturday was minus 4.5 degrees Celsius. IThe mercury dropped to minus 11.4 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam and minus 9.5 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg.
According to the Meteorological Center, Srinagar, a Western Disturbance will be active from January 17 which is expected to increase the cold conditions further for two days.
The meteorological department has predicted more snowfall and rains across Jammu Kashmir as two back-to-back western disturbances are expected to hit the region on January 16 and 18.
